THE ART OF
SLOWING DOWN workshop
WHAT THIS IS
The Art of Slowing Down is a thoughtfully facilitated, real-world experience that blends:
Gentle instruction on seeing, attention, and visual storytelling
A self-guided photo walk rooted in curiosity and autonomy
Group reflection that turns individual moments into shared meaning
Participants use their phones, no gear, no barriers, no expectations. The goal isn’t content. Its presence.
By the end of the workshop, participants leave with a personal collection of photographs that reflect how they see the world, along with a richer understanding of how creativity can support mental well being, connection, and self-expression.
A guided experiential photography workshop for presence, creativity, and human connection.
The Art of Slowing Down is an in-person street photography workshop designed to help people reconnect with themselves, their surroundings, and one another.
Using phone photography as a simple, accessible tool, the experience invites participants to move more slowly, notice more deeply, and create without pressure or performance. It’s not about mastering a camera, it’s about learning how attention shapes what we see, and what we miss.
Whether hosted by an organization, community, or retreat, the workshop adapts to the people and place it lives within.
Why This Workshop Matters NOW?
Today, more people than ever are navigating burnout, loneliness, creative block, and digital fatigue.
We move quickly. We consume constantly. We’re rarely given space to pause, reflect, or create without comparison.
This workshop offers a quiet, counter-cultural moment to:
Slow down and exhale
Move the body and engage the senses
Reconnect with curiosity instead of productivity
Be present with others, without performing
It creates space for noticing, both the world around us and what’s happening within.
What We Did Together
During the experience, participants:
Learn the basics of seeing like a photographer
Explore “hunting” vs. “fishing” approaches to noticing
Take a self-guided photo walk through their environment
Select and reflect on images that feel meaningful
Share observations and stories in small groups
Build connection through thoughtful, unhurried conversation
The structure is simple and intentional, allowing each person to engage at their own pace.
